HMI is home to the Hispanic Media Exchange (HME), a collaborative space where academic institutions with Hispanic broadcast journalism programs share TV news reports with other universities.

HME Begins at UT Arlington

HME became a reality at UT Arlington in October 20, 2017. UTA News en Español, our Spanish-language television newscast, included in that week's edition a TV news report from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University (ASU).

The College Newscast of the Americas is produced at the Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia under the direction of professor Germán Ortegón. This newscast is produced using content from all HME members and provides an inclusive and young approach to broadcast journalism in the American Continent.
